Do I Have To Replace All Of My Home’s Windows At The Same Time?

When it comes to home window replacement, one of the questions we’re most often asked is whether a homeowner must replace all of the windows in the home at the same time.  The answer to this question is no.

At Lindus Construction, it’s not uncommon for us to complete window replacement in phases.  This allows us to replace the home’s worst windows first and replace other windows as a homeowner’s budget allows.  At other times, not all of a home’s windows need to be replaced because their condition varies.  However, if homeowners finds themselves with an entire home full of windows that need replacement, there are many reasons why completing this type of a project in a single phase can be beneficial.

Project Costs

Many times, it is more cost-effective to replace all of the home’s windows at the same time.  This is because material and labor costs are expected to continue to rise.  In addition, a contractor can offer a better installation price if their craftsmen do not have to complete the window installation project in multiple phases over time.

Uniformity

Window manufacturers are continuously updating their product lines as technology advances and trends evolve.  This means that certain window models and hardware finishes can be discontinued over time.  If the goal of your window replacement project is to create a cohesive look throughout your home and your budget allows for it, It’s wise to replace all of your home’s windows at once.

Energy Efficiency

Your house windows are a major contributor to a home’s energy efficiency.  If drafty windows aren’t replaced, it’s likely that a home’s heating and cooling costs will be more expensive than they need to be.  So, while the homeowner is saving money by not completing full window replacement, their bank account is still being penalized.

Home Resale Value

In addition to upping a home’s energy efficiency, new windows also create a more modern and well-kept appearance.  For buyers wanting to move into a home that does not need major home repairs, new house windows can be an excellent selling point.

"Lindus Construction was great to work with. We had hail damage to our roof, siding and windows. They really went to bat for us with the insurance company which was greatly appreciated.  The crews that did the work were friendly and very professional. They really know what they are doing and work together extremely well. We are so very happy with the results. We will have no hesitation to use this company in the future."

"We live in an old house with old windows, including a large round window on the second floor that was leaking. We searched for 18 months for a company that would replace the round window and had no luck. The response was always that replacing it would be too hard and that they wouldn’t be able to guarantee the work. We were so relieved and happy to finally find Lindus. They replaced the round window and three other problem windows, including an old egress window.  We will definitely use Lindus Construction again for our old house needs."
