Protect Your Twin Cities Roof with LeafGuard® Gutters

While there are a bunch of gutter protection devices within the marketplace, LeafGuard® is highly sought after in the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin.  The unique shape of the gutter discourages anything except liquid water from entering the trough. In the winter months, this means icicles will hang off of LeafGuard® Gutters instead of the ice onto the roof which can cause ice dams.

Increase Energy Efficiency with Blower Doors & Insultex™ House Wrap

If dripping is noticed during times where the normal freeze/thaw cycle is not taking place, it’s possible that heat loss is the culprit.  The best way to determine if heat loss is taking place is to have a reputable professional conduct a free heat map analysis.  Within this process, diagnostic tools such as infrared imaging, blower doors, and humidistats can be used to allow your contractor to tailor the best custom solutions for your home.

Another way to increase a home’s energy efficiency is to upgrade its underlayment to Insultex™ during your next siding project. Insultex™ has been certified by the Federal Trade Commission to be R-6 even though it is only 2 mm thick.  Some clients have even reported as much as 40% in energy savings after their siding installation with LP® SmartSide® and Insultex™ house wrap.

For homeowners planning a decking project, it’s important to know that there are differences in the substructures between capped polymers, like TimberTech® AZEK and wood decking.  With TimberTech® AZEK, 12-inch spacing is Lindus Construction’s preferred method.  That means that there is bracing every foot on the deck.  It’s worth noting that composite decking experiences more movement than a cedar deck does.  Metal deck frames are also gaining popularity because of their sleek, modern look due to their black coloring.  This configuration looks better than green treated lumber framing which can crack and discolor over time.  Homeowners can also customize the look of their deck by choosing glass or metal.

"I was very happy with the free insulation estimate I received from the Lindus rep. He took the time to walk me and my father-in-law through a thermal scan of all the leaky spots in my attic - and basement, bonus! - and was honest and forthright about the work they do and the best and most economical options available to us to improve ambient temperature control in these areas."
