Whether we advise for the installation of a metal or asphalt roof varies by the type of property it’s being installed on.  However, when it comes to home siding, we are in favor of LP® SmartSide® over James Hardie®.

First and foremost, it’s manufactured locally in Two Harbors, MN and Tomahawk, WI.  LP® siding installation does not require any special tools, making it quicker to install.  Its lifespan also trumps that of James Hardie® siding. LP® SmartSide® also outranks James Hardie® in terms of moisture resistance.

When interviewing potential contractors for your siding project, investigate if their installers specialize in siding installation or if they toggle between project types.  More often than not, issues with siding boil down to botched installation techniques.
