When Debbie consulted our team for an estimate, she was interested in learning what roofing options were available to her. At the time, her Minnetonka home had a cedar shake roof. Choosing the Best Material for Roof Replacement

Owning a cedar shake roof isn’t for the faint of heart. There are several reasons why homeowners that have them seek out maintenance-free alternatives. Cedar shake roofs should be inspected on an annual basis for indications of aging, rot, and insect damage. In order to maintain their appearance, they should be professionally cleaned every 4-5 years. Many insurance companies increase premiums on these types of roofs because of their flammability.

In this instance, a metal roof would have looked both unnatural to the home and in the neighborhood. Basic shingles simply wouldn’t have done this pristine home justice. Lindus Construction has performed several outside projects on our house in Minnetonka. The first job involved the installation of steel roofing on our home. They did a great job cleaning up the area around the house. The second project that we had them do was to install a new deck. Lastly, we had Lindus replace our old vinyl siding.
