Smart Appliances Revolutionize Cooking and Cleaning

Do you ever get to the grocery store and realize you forgot to check how much <insert favorite condiment here> was left in the refrigerator? If only you could see the inside of your refrigerator from your smartphone (spoiler alert: you can). Or you are working late and want to get the oven preheating so you can pop your dinner in as soon as you get home? (Again, you can!). Today’s appliances come loaded with smart features to make our home lives a little simpler. Check out these appliance technology features to inspire your next upgrade.
Smart Cooking
The Kitchen Hub from GE Profile combines a smart touchscreen with a kitchen vent. Chat with friends and family using the front-facing camera, then switch to the overhead camera to share what you have cooking. Stream music, watch Netflix or talk to your Google Assistant while your hands are busy mixing or stirring—the opportunities are endless. An air curtain protects the screen from heat and grease.

Whirlpool’s Scan-to-Cook technology allows you to scan the barcode on your favorite frozen meal, which then preheats the oven to the correct temperature and sets the cook time. And with Whirlpool smart ovens, you can start the preheating before you walk in the door.
Smart Cooling
Another appliance intent on making your kitchen truly the heart of the home, the Samsung Family Hub helps you manage your home with its Wifi-enabled touchscreen. Write notes to family members, create a shared family calendar and store shopping lists right on the refrigerator. And yes, interior cameras allow you to see your fridge contents on the go.

LG ThinQ technology on smart refrigerators sends you an alert if the refrigerator door is left open. It also allows you to set your refrigerator to vacation mode or make more ice for an impromptu get-together.
Smart Cleaning
LG’s ThinQ tech allows you to monitor laundry on the go as well. Get notifications on your load’s status all from your smartphone. If you aren’t going to make it home in time to fold your clothes before they wrinkle, set the dryer to another quick spin cycle.

Never guess how much detergent you need again with GE’s Smart Dispense, which dispenses just the right amount after sensing the weight and fabric of the laundry load.
Troubleshooting Appliances
While all of these features are certainly cool for us and our customers, one of our favorite benefits of connected appliances is the ability to troubleshoot common issues right from your phone. Your appliance app can walk you through troubleshooting steps based on an error code, and if that doesn’t work, call center reps are equipped with more information to diagnose appliance problems over the phone.

As technology continues to evolve, the smart features in appliances will too. If you can’t keep up with all the changes, ask your Warners’ Stellian sales associate about the latest and greatest in appliance technology. We are happy to assist!
