Debbie’s Minneapolis Infinity® from Marvin Window Project

When it comes time for replacing exterior elements of a historic home, a homeowner has some serious decisions to make. While maintenance-free options are highly sought after, the products used must still work with the home’s architectural style, so as not to detract from the home’s curb appeal.  The first time that our client, Debbie, had worked with our company her gutters needed replacement.  She appreciated that the LeafGuard® Brand Gutters we installed emulated the look of crown molding on her 1940’s home. Having been so pleased with the care and craftsmanship exhibited by our team, we rose to the top of her list when it came time for window replacement.  When selecting a product, her top priorities were low-maintenance, mindful of the home’s architectural style, and energy efficient.  Here’s why Infinity® from Marvin Windows proved to be the optimum choice.

Here’s how the home looked before we started the window replacement project.

Maintenance: While wood windows were the norm when Debbie’s home was originally constructed, she was committed to finding an option that wouldn’t require continuous staining and sealing.  Infinity® from Marvin Windows are comprised of Ultrex® fiberglass which has been certified to be eight times stronger than vinyl.  They’re made and manufactured by a Minnesota based company that understands the rigors of Mother Nature throughout the four seasons.  Ultrex® has been designed not to expand and contract, something that many vinyl window brands cannot promise.  Debbie appreciated the fact that the acrylic finish used on the Ultrex® fiberglass is maintenance-free and resistant to fading.

Style: A charming aspect of Debbie’s home was the olive-green window trim.  While she wanted to maintain this aspect, she was interested in removing the awnings that had become faded over the years.  This move allowed the windows to become a greater focal point on the home’s exterior.  From a stylistic standpoint, Infinity® by Marvin Windows emulate the look of wood through their details and profiles.marvin windows

Energy Efficient: Understanding that windows play a key factor in a home’s energy efficiency, Debbie felt confident in her choice of Infinity® from Marvin Windows.  Because the Ultrex® fiberglass expands at the same rate as the window glass, the windows resist air leakage, broken seals, and cracking which impair energy efficiency.  The Low E3 glass in Debbie’s windows is comprised of three layers of metallic silver that will combat solar heat gain, keeping Debbie’s summer air conditioning costs in check.

Marvin Infinity® Windows Reviews:

"We live in an old house with old windows, including a large round window on the second floor that was leaking. We searched for 18 months for a company that would replace the round window and had no luck. The response was always that replacing it would be too hard and that they wouldn’t be able to guarantee the work. We were so relieved and happy to finally find Lindus. They replaced the round window and three other problem windows, including an old egress window.  We will definitely use Lindus Construction again for our old house needs."

"Ryan did the trim on 2 of my windows a few weeks ago. Awesome job, Ryan! When he left, not a scrap of anything was left in the yard. Would never have known anyone had been there....well, except for the great trim job! Thanks again."
